Basic / Subtractive Synthesis: Oscillators & Filters
In this module we cover a detailed introduction to the fundamental concepts of subtractive synthesis such as shaping sounds using oscillators and filters.
Advanced Synthesis: Modulation and Synthesis Types
This module explores more advanced synthesis concepts including modulation, modular synthesisers, and more advanced forms of synthesis including Wavetable and FM.

The Tutors
Davide Carbone
For his sound design work alone, Davide has been nominated for a BAFTA, AGDA, ARIA and Golden Joystick Award. He has created sound design for several major films, shows and video games. He loves making his own sounds from scratch. He also created the Carbon Electra software synth.
Tristan Malloch
Tristan Malloch is a Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist, music producer, product demonstrator and teacher with a vast history throughout the music industry. In the past he has represented synth brands including Korg, Arturia and Native Instruments.
Steve Berry
Steve Berry is a sound designer, producer, and vocalist who works full-time at samplify studio in Melbourne. He is the former vocalist and co-writer for the experimental band Full Code, and has created commissioned works and released solo material under the alias Steven Hue.
James Hewson
James Hewson is a professional sound designer and producer with his work recently appearing on several major-release video games. Originally a student at the School of Synthesis and now a producer at samplify, James has contributed to many of the features and content in Scaler 2
